April?

It was TOTALLY productive! Man… I don’t even remember it all… I took my ten hour driving course and passed my driving test 13 days after receiving my permit. So license— check! I got a new job selling tea— check! Really, those two things took the entire month… I didn’t get to write a post the past few days because of being so damn busy. I bought my first car on the 2nd of this month!

Anyway, I got a job (though it’s only part time… we’ll see how it goes as I train), I got wheels, I’m legal on the road, and… oh! I also set up a whole lot more with college. I have to take placement tests this month and basically work to keep my new possession and make my future educational goals possible. Man, what a month… gotta keep goin’!

Sorry if you followed this blog expecting loads of Sherlock. :( I’ve just been so busy, I honestly haven’t drawn much at all. I can’t promise anything, but there’s hope.

March? …WHOA.

Okay, so this month actually felt really long for once. Usually months feel like… a week or two to me, but this month actually felt like… a month. Which is a good thing. One reason could be that I’m unemployed at the moment (my first full month of being so), and another could be that many different changes in plans occurred. Because the month felt so long, I dont really remember the entire thing, but let me just say the “big” things.

Number one! I’m finally getting my driver’s license! I go for my permit test this Wednesday. Had to take a four hour (which ended up being more like six due to the “readings”…), drug and alcohol course (don’t drink and drive, kids) and am currently waiting for my certificate to arrive in the mail. Big step. About six years late, but hey. I’m doing it! Again, must improve myself little by little. Been researching cars and all that jazz too… lots to think about in that area.

Was very close to deciding on joining the Navy this month as well. Bought a book and flashcards on the ASVAB and was serious about it for a short time, but ended up deciding it isn’t the best path to take at the current time for me.

Applied to college! A community college, that is. It’s a huge start though. My uncle brought up a very good point. You just have to start already. You have to do it. Stop worrying if it’s the right step, place, or what not; you’re getting an education. You just need to START your journey. I really look up to my uncle, he’s everything I wish I could be, so I’m listening to this man. It’s funny because I applied three days before the deadline of April 1st. I’m just gonna say HELL YEAH. SUCK’a.

It’s also 90 miles west of New York City and 60 miles north of Philly. I love it. It’s funny how this is the last place I thought I’d really end up, but after five years of not being near it, I’m actually attending it. Who knows where this small step will lead me? Hopefully somewhere bigger.

How’s that for a monthly update. Wow. Hope April’s as productive.

yes this is actually a thing

there’s a manga about Jesus and Buddha going on a holiday trip together

it exists

it’s a bestseller in Japan

so basically this makes me stupidly happy like I can’t explain it. oh Japan, how I love you.

I must read this. LOL

WATSON PRACTICE. Talk about consistency…*sarcasm* Anyway, I already have the script to the comic typed up. Just need to practice Sherlock [expressions] now! John’s fun, but you have to be careful with his features I find… oh well, the more you draw the better you get, I guess. Haven’t inked for a long time either so wanted to do these.

Archie Comics responds to the American Family Association:

“We stand by Life with Archie #16. As I’ve said before, Riverdale is a safe, welcoming place that does not judge anyone. It’s an idealized version of America that will hopefully become reality someday.

We’re sorry the American Family Association/OneMillionMoms.com feels so negatively about our product, but they have every right to their opinion, just like we have the right to stand by ours. Kevin Keller will forever be a part of Riverdale, and he will live a happy, long life free of prejudice, hate and narrow-minded people.”

Obsessed.
These guys are fun to draw. This was my first time drawing them so not quite used to it yet but I will practice a little more before doing a short fan comic.
Sucks new episodes won’t be here ‘till 2013… :(

February? Plenty!

Where do I begin? I guess where I left off. I finished working at the company I’ve been with for about two and three quarter years. It was an invaluable experience with retail and dealing with poor management (the last seven months only). The first two years were spectacular being that I was at a different store. Again though, glad it’s behind me!

My family and I also moved this past weekend and I’m about done unpacking and organizing. I still don’t have my own bedroom but I don’t actually miss having one. The couch doesn’t seem to be bothering my back at all so everything’s good on a personal level.

I’m pretty much free for the entire month of March which means I don’t think I’ll have another job until the next move. My room-mate and I are thinking about the big move in April. At least, that’s when we think it will happen. The weather should be good and it’s before schools let out and all that jazz… Whenever it does happen, it will be the right time. That’s how I see it. It almost happened last year, but that was definitely not the right time. I’m so glad we all ended up waiting it out.

January? Not much.

I’ve been busy working at my full time job. It has really beaten me down with the stress and pressure at times. I find myself waking up to nose bleeds and being generally unhappy with the place. Which is why I handed in my two weeks notice today! Well, not entirely. My parents are also moving on the 25th of this month so where they go, I go.

For now.

I’ve also been sick the past few days but am feeling much better now. Knowing I officially have twelve days of work left (not counting days off), is such a sigh of relief for me. Don’t get me wrong, framing can be awesome, but you need awesome management to make it an awesome job. Something I did not have here. Regardless, I’m so grateful I had this job. It’s really toughened me up and given me the funds I’ve needed to get by. I’m just glad I’m moving on!

I also bought myself a Roku 2 recently. The first movie I watched on it was a Korean film called Poetry. I’m also reading Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. One of my goals this year and well, forever, is to watch more movies and read more books. I need to get more cultured! Slowly but surely I’m improving myself…

As for art? Um…

It’s coming.

I caught a glimpse of this bug outside my apartment today when I was walking my dog. Look how the spots are so symmetrical! The colors are so pretty too… luckily when it noticed me taking photos of it, it just walked away slowly… I might have freaked if it flew at me, haha

I wonder what kind of insect it is… maybe I’ll look it up later.
